Palestinian and Arab Cultures Living in a moderately Eastern society has brought my attention to the difference in culture. I live in Palestinian and have an American mother, which would show my involvement with a Western society. The flow of knowledge and the entanglement of many cultures have been presented more in our modern age.Palestine also divers of the Mediterranean climate and it has the four seasons all year long for instance; in north its cold and windy, in the East side close to Jordan River is very warm. That is what made Palestine the most wanted country in the world. The whole Palestinian- Israel conflict started in 1915.Every vestige of the Palestinian culture was to be erased. Resolution 181, adopted in 1947 by the United Nations declared the end of British rule over Palestine (the region between the eastern edge of the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River) and it divided the area into two parts; a state for the Jewish and one for the Arab people, Palestine.
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been a never-ending problem facing the two states. It began in the 19th century during the Ottoman or British rule. This was between the Arabs living in Palestine and the Jews living in Israel. It was Zionism for the Jews against Arab nationalism.In the 1967 Six Day War, Israel captured the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, among other areas. The West Bank and the Gaza Strip are often called the Occupied Territories, and most of the residents are Palestinian Arabs. Many have been refugees in the Occupied Territories since the 1948 war.
Palestine, area of the eastern Mediterranean, comprising parts of modern Israel along with the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. The strategic importance of the area is immense: through it pass the main roads from Egypt to Syria and from the Mediterranean to the hills beyond the Jordan River.
